Well as you can see, I am such a nomad. I like to explore places, people and things. I just have to be in a different place every time. One thing that becomes a real issue in a relationship is the movies. It’s really a little thing to start with, but being the one who has the say on which channel to flick or which movie on a Friday night can be a critical situation. It could actually result in a petty, if not a huge, fight.

There should be someone to give in or compromise. Most likely it would be the guy. The whole hasty understanding is that guys should swallow their pride and settle for chick flick, especially if they have something otherwise planned. However, women should also learn to switch places in terms of movie choices. It could be a really turn off insisting all the time on those tear-jerking films, even if the guy digs it.

Here are some suggestions, how to please the male significant other:

1. Die Hard Series – These are the most likely appropriate movies if the guy is relatively into some hardcore action-packed visual experience. It keeps his masculinity at its peak; especially he is the knight in shining armor kind of guy. Lethal Weapon is also a back-up choice.

2. Back To The Future and sequels – If the guy is a geek, these films are just the right selection for a little couch down time. They are a little bit classic but they could really fire up some romantic exchange, if it is the point of watching on Friday nights.

3. The Matrix Trilogy – The series could be a bomb with guys who have dark personality and techie at the same time. Kind of those not-so geeky but hot men. Matrix always brings out the intellectual side of a guy. It’s action but it has this whole conspiracy about life and the future. The right movies for intellectual flirting.

4. The Bourne Movies – They are a very good suggestion for guys who are very manly and mysterious. Those men who like action plus a challenge in problem solving. The quest of Jason Bourne might become the first collaborative effort of two people.

5. Indiana Jones – These movies are great to go with men who are adventurous and free-spirited, mostly interested in nature and mysteries that also come with civilization. After watching the movies, couples might as well go on a trip or a luxurious vacation.

Horror and gory movies are also a good choice. Guys always like such stuff, and somehow they even more like it when girls tend to be scared and want to be protected for some reasons.

Watching movies is more than hanging out. It’s really part of building and making the relationship stronger. It is actually the most traditional and cheapest way to spend some quality time with each other. Plus, it helps the communication going and even healthier, as long as someone has to be patient enough to compromise. After all constant talking and attentive listening are the key to a successful relationship. If couples maintain such status, there will always be that assurance that both parties want for a long time or forever.

The recent story about McKinney High School yearbook has shocked the world, or at least some of the people mostly Americans. If only those pictures are real, it would be a real gory massacre like those hideous new-age horror movies. Heads are torn and switched with others bodies, necks are stretched and other things that makes photo manipulation an evil deed.

Obviously, this whole thing might be a product of a disgruntled employee of the photo company. Or yet, it’s a vengeful gesture of the school’s alum that always got beaten during high school. However, the real question or issue – would it be such fuzz if the pictures are edited positively? For instance, all the zits and blemishes are carefully removed just like those photos on the cover of the magazine. It’s everybody’s common denominator to look good on the yearbook. Why:

1. Because it is worth for an autograph. Who doesn’t want every signature of the class, especially the jocks and the cheerleaders? It’s kind of off if there would be some mocking laughs when someone is signing the yearbook. It’s hard to avoid being asked, “So where’s your photo?”
2. Because friends compare. It’s a tradition of some sort that friends ought to compare who looks better or worse. No one can literally escape such situations. The yearbook is as big deal as the dresses and dates for the prom.
3. Because ten years later, everyone wants to look back and still compare. Everybody wants to know who still remains as they are. For example, are the cheerleaders still pretty and popular? Are the geeks making more money that everyone else?
4. Because it’s the last picture that proves youth. Indeed, a yearbook picture looks into a thousand teenage experiences that signify the firsts and the worsts, like first cigarette puff, first beer and everything else that gets to be stupid actions that represent being young and restless.
5. Because it is a photo that measures one’s success. It actually becomes a motivation for some students, transcending how that picture speaks of them. Success is relative but everyone wants to reach that point in life when the loser at the back of the class has turned out to be humanity’s all-time hero.
   

Again, had the pictures turned out to make everybody’s pictures perfect, that news would definitely be nonexistent. It’s just that those photos resulted in a bad way. There could be a lot of arguments, protests and even lawsuits, but eventually, fighting over the matter is really so high school-ish. But if that’s the point, then authorities can challenge the responsible person for the yearbook massive visual error.

The general principle about weight is that the thinner you are the better you look. The idea even rules out the possibility of eating disorders, which is relentlessly bad. You have to face it, the world is so cruel. There are plenty of sinful foods, and they keep coming and getting more delicious. They are your personal devil that attacks your eating habit and will power. You have to brace your self every time to cut down or even avoid sugar. You have to divert your craving to other activities, just so you could stay on the standard acceptable body.

But, do you ever feel that doing all those no-pain-no-gain steps will not really do you good? Sure thing, you can lose a pound or two. However, it is so difficult for you to keep up with the process. Sometimes you just have to give in and work with what you have or what you are – Be fabulous with those extra fats!

1. Breeze through a crowd with confident. You can only look like a hideous big person if you project that idea to others. Be comfortable in your skin. Have a positive aura instead of insecurities escaping from your being.
2. Wear the right clothing. It’s not about wearing those baggy shirts and jeans. It’s about style and the trend. You can still have a killer look. There are already designers and companies that specifically target the bigger population. Being big is not an excuse to be stuck so-last-season-style.
3. If you can’t diet, at least be a little bit healthy. You have fought this familiar battle before. If you want to eat something, then do so. However, make it a point that you also eat other foods that could benefit your health.
4. Exercise even for a short time. If it’s hard to exercise for an hour every day. Try 10 minutes. It’s not about losing a pound, but getting your body moving.
   

Never underestimate your self. Feel good with everything that you are, don’t let anybody tell you that you are below standards, because everybody has their flaws.

So there are people who make wearing bikinis a serious business. We don’t really want to put Giselle Bunchen and the rest of the Victoria Secret girls, because that would be a little overrated to tell everybody that they are indeed rocking in their bikini bodies. We all have preferences that make us a little more insecure of our ordinary selves. I think these people have managed to get into everybody’s nerve or something for the mere fact that they always strut with almost naked bodies:
 

Cindy Crawford. She’s a model, I know. But for a momma with two kids, she is definitely still going to be beautiful in those itsy bitsy clothing even at 90. Good genes and a lot of exercise is the key, if you could hear her body screaming.

Demi Moore. She is still very hot and even hotter with her best accessory, Ashton Kutcher. Have you seen her in Charlie’s Angels? That body does not really spell 40 something. How many daughters she has again? She even beats her daughter at getting physical attention.

Cameron Diaz. Perhaps because she surfs, that’s why we can’t really help but notice that muscle-packed abdomen and all her body.

Janice Dickinson. Okay old people in bikinis are kind of hot. She is 53 but take a look at her flat stomach. It’s way far off from being withered if there is such thing as withering stomach.

Jessica Alba. Have you noticed how she is tagged as the snobby pregnant lady? Maybe because she’s not really comfortable losing that all-time bikini body. I bet she can’t wait to pop that baby and head for the gym to do some hardcore workout. Oh wait, she is still going to the gym even when she is preggers. They say she has been working out too much for a pregnant woman.

Jessica Biel. She is beyond words. She has come out from Seventh Heaven with that feisty body. No dull moment ever since her transition from a teeny bopping pastor’s daughter to a consistent bikini favorite.

Mena Suvari. A truly American beauty or body…whichever. She is supposed to be sweet. She has to be sweet, but now she is just freaking hot in those tiny “two piece.”

Paris Hilton. Never forget the Hiltons, or at least this frenzy Hilton who copyrighted “That’s hot!” No doubt she is hot. The really envious part, she eats so much and hey look at that body.

Kim Kardashian. Then you wonder, why do the Paparazzi love her? For very obvious reasons from behind, right? Not to mention the front and up there.

Jennifer Lopez. I bet everybody could not wait for her to come out from her post-pregnant body. She is the mecca of bikini body.

If you argue with me with my choices, it’s up to you. The point is we all want a body something like theirs. We all know they have a surgery or two, but you can still get that with a powerful motivation of strict diet and plenty of exercise time.

There are several kinds of travelers and most of them miss out on the golden rule: Travel Light. There are a lot of reasons why the smaller your bag is more advantageous than bringing half of your room or even your bath. Personally, I used to bring almost everything until some things have dawned to me which urge me to pack only one bag when going somewhere else:

1.    When things go wrong in a trip, I could run and get away from the scene easily. I don’t mean to be skeptical, but there are always inevitable circumstances that just require you to instantly escape the place. What if the captain screams abandon ship? Of course I could not immediately go if I’m carrying a big luggage, right?

2.    There is always a laundry mat or store. I believe that the world has evolved and even the most rural place has a town that offers me the basic necessities like fresh clothes. It’s either I repeat my clothes the second or third, or I’m going to head off to some laundry mat. Besides, I carry cotton shirts and quick dry stuff. Plus, I could always buy new clothes in case everything is not wearable.

3.    No checking in of baggage and waiting in line. It saves me a lot of time in the airport. Plus, I really don’t like waiting. Who would want to wait, right?

4.    Saves me from giving tip to the bell boy. I’m not cheap but I do travel at a floor’s cost. I work within my budget and I don’t spare some for those tips.

5.    Easy to succumb to spur of a moment to go beyond the travel itinerary. I have a travel plan but I’m also open to instant thought of going somewhere else. With only a backpack, it’s always possible.

Did I say I’m a backpacker? I say, I’m half a backpacker but I sure do travel light.

prepare for the occasion? Honestly, it is the most decent reason I could ever think of. In fairness to Suri, she looks amazing in her new hair. But really, does she really need a new hair color? She’s the only two year old I know who gets to dye her hair sooner than she gets her period. Perhaps she has told Katie, "Mom, I want a brown hair." I remember in an interview that Katie mentioned that both she and Tom give Suri everything. I mean come on, do you really give in when your toddler is so obnoxious because she thinks brown is the new black?

You can hate me but I really questions Katie's parenting skills. It's not really a fashion statement to color your baby's hair. It's too much if they want more attention. Seriously, I don't really get the hair color. Is it part of the Scientology thing... babies need to change hair color by the age of two? It's not really a good example for mothers out there. Oh, and maybe, there is a new line of hair dyes for baby hair and it's Suri's first modeling job. Who knows, right?

OMG! It's the bully!

School is not a good place for some people. It spells fear and terror in their everyday existence. What’s worse about it is skipping school is a big No No. It’s part of growing up and education is inevitably a need these days. School is supposed to be a learning environment. It should be fun as well as nurturing. But, is bullying part of the whole process of being educated? Unfortunately, it becomes a tradition of some sort. What is a school without a bully, right? Someone has to do the bullying or else everybody in the class is missing something.

Who are the bullies?

They are usually the big kids in the campus, the cheerleaders, the jocks and just about anybody who is making a hell out of everybody else.

Why bully?

Bullying has been miscalculated as a normal thing with kids. It’s part of growing up too, as they would say. Bullying is when an individual or group repeatedly tries to do bad things on someone, preferably vulnerable and weak. It comes in many forms. It could be teasing or taunting, name calling and even hitting. Sometimes it is indirect like creating and spreading rumors, or just trying to make the whole school despise someone.

Why worry about bullying?

Some parents would just look at bullying as a child’s play. However, it could really become ugly, especially when it leads kids and teenagers to be horribly afraid. Somehow bullying becomes one of the reasons for poor academic performance. Why bother go to school, if it would mean being beat up? In severe cases, the victims may react with drastic measures such as attempting suicide. And others, well, the effects of bullying leave an endless scar of their life.

How to fight the bully?

Avoid the chance. It’s not really hiding from the bully, but taking another route to the class just to avoid him or her or them.

Stand tall and fast. If there’s no chance of avoiding the bully, then facing the person is the only way. Be brave and fight back. It’s not really a good advice but sometimes standing up and doing something is necessary. This does not mean kicking or hitting back. It means saying a strong “No” or “Stop it.” Answering the violence with violence will just encourage the bullies. Or, call the principal or any adult.

Be confident and strong. Remember that bullies go after the weak, so don’t be one. Don’t let them smell fear. Also, they are not perfect too. They have weaknesses and flaws just like everybody else.

Get a friend. Having someone around will lessen the chance of getting bullied. Stick with a buddy when going to school or eating lunch. A friend will always stop the process. If not, he or she could tell the principal or teacher.

Always remember that sooner or later the bullies will eventually get into trouble. They might lose their friends or get expelled from school for being bullies. What you can do is to be strong and be on guard always.

Have you watched the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy? Besides the competition that made Meredith, Izzie and Cristina jumpy, it was the elevator scene of McSteamy and McDreamy that bothered me. Whew! Did he just turn gay on his best friend? He just blurted out about how they should spend a guy to guy quality time together, that he missed it or something like that. It's very unlikely of Mark Sloan to say that kind of words. Maybe he really got the right challenge with Erica Hahn. And then, he decided on some sex sabbatical because he just wanted to do Hahn.

The Elevator Talk

I don't know, the character of Eric Dane has changed dramatically over the latest seasons of the show. My forecast on Dr. Mark "McSteamy" Sloan is he would hit on Meredith, or at least become carried away by some kind of moment. I mean, Derek just took a nurse into his arms as something out of desperation for Meredith. It definitely would be an Addison revisited. For what it's worth, I like the personal issues of Meredith. It keeps the anticipation constantly on fire and the storyline solid.
